Yarn inventory Template
What is in the stash, how much of it, and the dye lot everyone forgets to write down.
Four steps
How to print a yarn inventory
- 1
Start from this form
Opens on the yarn inventory: Updated, Where kept, a table, a note and the rest.
- 2
Put your own heading on it
Replace "Yarn Inventory" with a name, a business or a date range.
- 3
Set the row height
18 rows at 6 mm fits more in; 14 mm suits a form filled in by hand.
- 4
Print or save as PDF
The dye lot is the line to get right.
Who prints this
Knitters and crocheters with more than one box of it, and anyone who has run out halfway up a sleeve.
The field that decides whether it works
The dye lot. Two balls of the same shade from different lots do not match, and you discover that at the point where nothing can be done about it.
Why it is laid out this way
Dye lot gets a column of its own rather than sitting inside a description, because it is the field people skip and then need. Quantity is recorded as what remains rather than what was bought, so the sheet stays true as the stash gets used.
What is on the sheet
3 sections, in this order: Updated, Where kept; a table; a note. Set the row height anywhere between 6 and 14 mm across its 18 ruled rows, put your own heading at the top, and find the yarn inventory alongside 5 other forms on the hobby trackers page.
