Sizes that fit the jar, not the page
The commonest fault in a printable label sheet is sizing the labels so they divide an A4 page neatly. That produces a label that looks tidy on screen and will not sit flat on anything you own.

A curved surface is the reason to err narrow. A spice jar is about 40 mm across, so a 45 mm label is being asked to bend in two directions at once. It will look fine on the day and lift at both edges within a week.
What actually sticks
- Matt sticker paper for jars. Gloss shows every fingerprint on a jar that comes out of a cupboard twice a day.
- Tape, not stickers, in the freezer. Adhesive gives up once frost forms and the corners curl. Ordinary paper with clear tape over the whole label outlasts a sticker by months.
- Wipe the jar first. Nothing sticks to a jar with oil on it, which every jar near a hob has.
- Print one and try it on the actual jar before printing thirty-six.
Why the date line matters
The freezer size carries a date line by default, and it is the only field that stops a freezer becoming an archaeology site. A labelled bag with no date tells you what it is but not whether you should still eat it, so it stays there. Write the date on the day it goes in, not the day you meant to.
