Invoice Template
A printable invoice with a proper totals block, plus a receipt, a client intake form, meeting minutes and a project brief. Blank forms with sensible headings, sized to print accurately, with no account and nothing uploaded.
Four steps
How to print an invoice template
- 1
Pick the sheet
Invoice, receipt, client intake, minutes or project brief.
- 2
Set the row height
Taller rows give more writing room and fit fewer per page.
- 3
Add your own heading
Optional, if the default title does not suit.
- 4
Print it
Anything that does not fit continues onto another page.
What this is not
These are blank forms. They are not legal, tax or accounting advice, and they do not encode any country's invoicing rules. What an invoice is required to show, how tax must be stated, whether a number sequence must be unbroken, and how long you must keep records all vary by country and often by the kind of work. The tax line here is left blank and labelled rather than assuming a rate.
If you are invoicing commercially, spend ten minutes checking what your own tax authority requires. It is usually a short list, and it is far cheaper to read it now.
The two fields that get invoices paid
An invoice number and a due date, both at the top. The number is what lets anyone refer to the invoice in an email, a payment reference or a chasing call without ambiguity. The due date is what makes late unarguable, which matters because most late payment is not refusal, it is an invoice sitting in a pile with nothing on it saying when it mattered.
| Field | Why it is where it is |
|---|---|
| Invoice number | Referenceable in email and in your records |
| Due date | Makes late unambiguous |
| Line description | The widest column: vague lines cause queries |
| How to pay | On the same sheet, so nobody has to ask |
Minutes that get used
The meeting minutes sheet gives very little room to discussion and a great deal to actions, which is deliberate. Minutes recording what was said are almost never reopened. Minutes recording what was decided, and who is doing what by when, are the ones people actually return to.
Every action needs a name and a date. An action owned by "the team" is not owned by anybody, and the sheet is laid out so that leaving those columns blank is visibly a gap rather than a formatting choice.
