Content Calendar & Planners
A month of social posts on one sheet, an email campaign with a single action per email, a brand worksheet that asks what you would never say, and a content plan that starts with who it is for. Four sheets, all editable.
Four steps
How to plan a month of content
- 1
Pick the sheet
Content calendar, email planner, brand worksheet or content plan.
- 2
Fill the asset column too
Missing assets, not missing ideas, are why posts slip.
- 3
One action per email
If you cannot pick one, it is probably two emails.
- 4
Print it
Anything that does not fit continues onto another page.
The column that decides whether posts happen
Every content calendar has a date and an idea. The one that gets used has a column for the asset, because the asset is what actually blocks a post. Ideas are cheap and quick; the photograph, the graphic or the thirty seconds of video is the thing that is not ready at eight in the morning on the day.
Writing the asset down while planning turns it into something you can batch: an afternoon making eight images beats eight mornings failing to make one.
One action per email
An email asking readers to do two things performs about as well as one asking them to do nothing. The planner gives each email a single narrow column headed the one action, and there is deliberately no room for a second. If a campaign keeps wanting two, that is a signal it is two campaigns, or one email too few.
What you would never say
The most useful line on a brand sheet is the one ruling things out. Aspirational adjectives are interchangeable: almost every brand claims to be friendly, expert and trusted, and none of that helps somebody writing a sentence on a Tuesday.
A list of things you would never say is immediately actionable. So is naming who you are not for, which is the fastest way to stop writing copy that tries to include everybody and moves nobody.
