How to convert hours to minutes

Multiply the number of hours by 60. That is the whole calculation: min = h × 60. To go back the other way, divide instead, or multiply by 0.016667.

Worked example: 12 hours × 60 = 720 minutes.

Where this conversion comes up

Time conversions are exact up to weeks. Months and years are not — a month here is treated as 30 days and a year as 365, which is fine for rough planning but wrong for contracts. For calendar-accurate durations use the date calculator, which counts real months and leap years.
